"Thank you for your review": 25 replies to positive reviews that don't sound copied
Short, warm replies to 5-star and 4-star reviews for restaurants, salons, shops, clinics and services — 25 examples, plus how to keep each one different.

A good reply to a positive review thanks the reviewer by name, repeats one specific thing they mentioned, and gives them a reason to come back. Two or three sentences is enough. The one rule that matters most is to never post the same reply twice, because readers scroll through replies and a row of identical thank-yous looks automated.
Why reply to good reviews at all
It is tempting to answer only the complaints. But replies to positive reviews do three useful things: they thank someone who did you a favour, they show future customers that a real person reads the reviews, and they let you add a detail the reviewer left out — a new menu, a booking link, the name of the person who helped them.
They also make the next review more likely. Customers who see that reviews get personal answers are more willing to write one.
The formula: name, detail, invitation
- Use their name. "Thank you, Priya" rather than "Thank you for your review".
- Echo one detail. The dish, the stylist, the speed of delivery — whatever they singled out.
- Close with a reason to return. A new season, a next appointment, a standing welcome.
Vary the opening, too. "Thank you", "We're so glad", "This made our day", "What a lovely review" — rotating four or five openings stops a page of replies from reading like one sentence pasted twenty times.

Ten years and still coming back, Farah — thank you! Customers like you are why we love what we do.
How to keep replies from sounding copied
- Never paste the exact same reply twice. Keep the structure, change the words.
- Mention what they mentioned. If the review has no detail, mention the day, the season or something new at your business.
- Reply in the reviewer's language. It shows you read it, not just the star rating.
- Don't stuff keywords. "Thanks for visiting the best Italian restaurant in Manchester" reads as an advert, not a thank-you.
Writing 25 different replies a week
Once reviews start arriving every day, writing each reply fresh is what gets skipped. AI Reply Writer puts an ✦ AI Reply button in the reply box on Google Business Profile and Trustpilot. It reads the review — the words and the stars — and drafts a reply that picks up the reviewer's own details, and it is built to vary its replies so a run of five-star reviews doesn't get five identical answers. You edit and post each one yourself. The free plan includes 20 replies a month.
For the harder case, see how to respond to a negative review, and for Google in particular, how to respond to Google reviews.
Frequently asked questions
What do you say when someone gives you a good review?
Thank them by name, mention one specific thing they said, and invite them back. For example: "Thank you, Priya! The butter chicken is our chef's favourite too — see you again soon."
Should I reply to every positive review?
Ideally, yes. It shows future customers that a real person reads reviews. If you have too many, prioritise detailed reviews and reviews that mention staff by name.
Is it OK to use a template for review replies?
A structure is fine; an identical sentence is not. Keep the same shape — name, detail, invitation — but write the words fresh each time.
How do I reply to a 5-star review with no comment?
Keep it short and warm: thank them by name for the stars and say you hope to see them again. One or two sentences is enough.
